Mike Kelly, Director, Doran Funeral Home

I was born in Rome, NY where I graduated in 1967 from Rome Free Academy. It was in 1968 that I graduated from the Simmon’s School of Mortuary Science and began my career in funeral service.

In 1986, I moved to Seneca Falls with my wife, Brenda, and three daughters, Allison, Courtney and Shannon. Today we have grown with the addition of two sons-in-law, Courtney’s husband, Rob, and Shannon’s husband, Scott, and four beautiful grandchildren, Riley, MacKenzie, Delaney and Robert– rounding out our family.

Like my own family, Doran Funeral Home is owned and operated in a family-like atmosphere that has been tradition for decades.  We continue to serve our families with the utmost sympathy and compassion, allowing us to achieve an outstanding reputation for personal service.

We ask that when you have questions concerning your selection of funeral services, you allow us the opportunity to assist you in your decisions. Our reputation for personal service allows you the comfort and understanding that all families of all nationalities and religious beliefs deserve.

Debbie Moody-Kelley, Licensed Funeral Director

I reside in Waterloo with my husband and have been a resident of Seneca Falls and Waterloo all of my life. I am the mother of three grown children and had been working as a secretary for all of my adult life.  I felt I needed something more fulfilling in life and this profession has given me just that.

I once read in a magazine a statement that said “Pick a Direction and Grow”.  At first I didn’t know what I wanted to do in the line of employment, so I cut the statement from the magazine and pasted it to my bookcase where I worked.  I looked at this statement each day, and it wasn’t until my father in law passed away that I realized I needed something more.

Our family needed the guidance of finding his final resting place and the way the funeral director, Mike Kelly, handled the process left a lasting impression on me. I spoke to Mike weeks later and asked about employment and where I could fit in as an employee for the funeral home. He met with me and told me about the business. This was when I decided to go through the process of becoming the professional that I am today.

I look forward to serving your families and will do so with the utmost respect and professionalism, as well as sympathy as if it were my own family.
