Obituary for Thomas J. Maloy

Seneca Falls – Thomas J. Maloy, 65, Seneca Falls, NY, passed away peacefully Tuesday (September 20, 2016) at his home.

Family and friends may attend Tom’s Mass of Christian Burial on Monday (September 26) at 2 PM at St. Patrick’s Church, Seneca Falls, with Reverend Roy Kiggins as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls. There will be no prior calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Upstate New York Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 1000 Elmwood Ave., Suite 900, Rochester, NY 14620, or to the Galen Historical Society, 31 N. Park St., Clyde, NY 14433.

Tom was born in Lyons, NY on February 24, 1951, the son of the late Arnold & Irene McGuire Maloy. He lived in Seneca Falls for over 35 years, moving from Clyde, NY. He attended Monroe Community College in Rochester where he studied criminal justice. He was a 1970 graduate of Clyde Central School.

Tom retired from the Village of Seneca Falls where he worked in the water department. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Seneca Falls, the Seneca Falls Elks Lodge #992, the Wayne County Historical Society, Lyons, NY, & the Galen Historical Society , Clyde, NY.
He was a former member of the Clyde Fire Department, Clyde, NY. Tom had played football in his years at Clyde High School. He was a local & family history buff, and was also dedicated to and active with the Upstate New York Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

He is survived by:
2 sisters – Joan (Buzz) Brown – Fair Haven, NY
Mariclaire (Mark) Maloy-Lazar – Canandaigua, NY
1 nephew – Christopher Brown – Fair Haven, NY
Aunt Frances Major
Several cousins
