Seneca Falls – Olide M. Giannotti, 100, of Chapel St., Seneca Falls, NY, passed away on Friday (February 24, 2017) at Geneva General Hospital, Geneva, NY with family by her side.
Family and friends may call at the Doran Funeral Home, 4 E. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, on Wednesday (March 1) from 4 PM to 7 PM. A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday (March 2) at 9:15 AM at the funeral home followed, at 10 AM, by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick’s Church, Seneca Falls, with Reverend James Fennessy, Pastor, as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Columbkille Cemetery, Seneca Falls. If desired, contributions may be made to St. Francis/St. Clare Parish, 25 Center St., Waterloo, NY 13165.
Olide was born 100 years ago on February 21, 1917 the daughter of the late Angelo & Gilda Turri. She was a life resident of Seneca Falls. She had been employed, at one time, for H & R Block preparing taxes, Gould’s Pumps, & Ginsberg Dress Co. of Seneca Falls. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Church, Seneca Falls. Olide was considered to be a fabulous northern Italian cook and was a wonderful mom. She loved to garden, especially producing some wonderful tomatoes and zucchini.
She is survived by:
2 sons – Joseph Giannotti – Fairport, NY
Paul (Irene) Giannotti – Rocky Point, NY
4 grandchildren – Stephen Giannotti, Geni Giannotti, Monica & Lauren Giannotti.
1 sister – Rena Turri – Geneva, NY
Several nieces and nephews
In addition to her parents, Olide was predeceased by her husband, Edward J. Giannotti who died June 15, 2000, 1 brother, Albert Turri, and 1 sister, Mary Mellini.
